Beach Water Park

The Beach Water Park was built and opened in 1987. The park sits on 14 acres that contains seven slides, five of which are body slides and two of them are tube slides, along with a lazy river, a kiddie pool, and a wave pool. The Beach also has two picnic areas to reserve for large groups. They also operate a gift shop, concessions and cater to groups. It is located at Montano and I-25, just South of the Montano Pads.

Build New Mexico plays a vital part of the Beach through the investment of the pension funds that we represent in real estate holdings. The Beach is a major community asset with high visibility, thereby giving us an opportunity to return on our investment, but also, to contribute to the quality of life to the pension fund benefits and to the community as a whole.

The Beach was incorporated in 1996 and its major stockholders include the New Mexico District Council of Carpenters Retirement Fund, New Mexico Electricians Retirement Fund, Sheet Metal National Fund, New Mexico Operation Engineers Health and Welfare Fund, New Mexico and West Texas Multi Craft Fund and Union Financial Corporation. The total man-hours on this project were 83,640 and the total cost of the Union Construction was $6,150,000.00.

The General Contractor was Summit Construction and the Architect was Wilson & Company Engineers and Architects. The Subcontractors were Hanna Plumbing, Beaty Electric, Universal Constructors and Kenneth P. Thompson Masonry.
